This collection of posts is for you if winter has lasted too long, the valley seems too deep, or the odds feel insurmountable.
Sometimes you need a perspective shift.
Sometimes you need a dose of truth.
Sometimes you just need to know you aren’t alone.
This series offers all of the above.
There’s also a free mini-eBook for my email friends written from all I learned after a fall that turned my world upside down. You can get your copy here or read more about my journey and this eBook at the end of this page.

I’ve been there – the wilderness road, the winter season, and that darn waiting place are well-known to me.
In God’s economy, nothing is wasted.
Whatever your life holds right now, it is still FULL of purpose ~ both for you and for your witness.
While you wait, travel the barren road, and endure this season,
here are a few thoughts that may help you keep things in perspective.
If your path is currently through the valley or you see one in your future,
here are five things I’ve learned make the difference in the ability to endure.
When the Odds are NOT in your favor:
Have you ever felt outnumbered, powerless, and small?
There’s a story in the Bible just for you!
Here are 3 things to do when you don’t know what else to do.
Life is full of moments when the sun shines only for a brief season and then it moves on.
Here is hope for the shadows when you’re unsure the light will return.
The list is long of those who have reached out for prayer to overcome and keep moving forward.
To be encouraged.
This is the 3-word prayer I offer up when I don’t know what else to pray.
My Own Journey
If you’re interested in my own story, these three posts below will walk you through the timeline of a season when I went from summer to winter to deep winter to finally trusting spring again.
The dates are for the original post.
I’ve since gone back and updated slightly just so they make sense to anyone who stumbles on them now.
A winter of the soul can cause you to mistrust spring.
Every time you think it’s going to get better, it doesn’t; somehow that makes it worse.
These words of hope are for anyone who has begun to believe hope is an enemy.
God reminds us He has appointed everything a time and a season and a reason.
Could you use more encouragement?
I fell and couldn’t get up.
If you read any of those last three posts, you have an idea. As I began to come out of the darkness, I saw connections between what happened with my accident and what happens when believers suffer from a brokenness that keeps them down.
This short eBook was born from that experience.
Downloading the eBook is free. Click here or below to get your copy.
You’ll also be added to my email list. (Which you can unsubscribe from any time. No spam here. Promise.)
But if any of this resonates with you, I think you will want to stick around. I’ll send encouragement to your inbox most weeks ~ the kind of stuff I don’t share with anyone else.
Friends don’t let friends do winter alone.
